The AGC San Diego Chapter offers a range of fall protection training courses to give your team members the hands-on experience and knowledge to work safely. Our fall protection competent person courses teach relevant concepts and principles, proper usage, and pre-use inspection requirements of the parts of fall arrest systems.

Our programs are unique in design, as we incorporate hands-on training as well as rescue training for specific classes.

All courses are instructor-led by certified Trainers.
In-person training is only available at our Fall Protection Training Campus in San Diego, California.
Our Virtual Instructor-Led Training is only available for specific classes and is included in the open enrollment schedule where available.

Competent Person Training for General Construction

CLASS FORMAT: Classroom
CLASS DURATION: 8 hours
LOCATION: AGC San Diego Safety Training Center
CLASS COST:
AGC Members: $265 per person Non-Members: $365 per person

This course is designed to educate construction workers about fall hazards, emphasizing compliance with FED OSHA and CAL OSHA safety requirements. Participants will gain comprehensive knowledge in identifying hazards, selecting appropriate fall protection equipment, and implementing and managing job-site safety procedures, including rescue protocols.

Competent Person Training Refresher Training

CLASS FORMAT: Classroom
CLASS DURATION: 5 hours
LOCATION: AGC San Diego Safety Training Center
CLASS COST:
AGC Members: $265 per person Non-Members: $365 per person

In accordance with ANSI Z359.2 (5.1.3), all Fall Protection Competent Persons shall have a retraining course at least every 2 years to stay current with updated equipment and standards. This course is designed for those individuals who are currently responsible or assigned as a Competent Person in either a Construction (OSHA 1926) or General Industry (OSHA 1910) environment.

Fall Protection 24-Hour Competent Person Training for EM 385-1-1

CLASS FORMAT: Classroom
CLASS DURATION: 24 hours (3 days)
LOCATION: AGC San Diego Safety Training Center
CLASS COST: AGC Members: $795 per person Non-Members: $895 per person

This in-depth Fall Protection 24-Hour EM 385 course is designed for those individuals who will be or are responsible for being a Competent Person, Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO), or are involved with working at heights on any NAVFAC or Army Corps of Engineers project or facility as prescribed by EM 385-1-1.

Fall Protection - Equipment Inspector Competent Person Training

The Competent Person for Equipment Inspection course is designed for the fall protection equipment user, or at-risk worker, as well as their supervisors and the safety professional. It is also designed for those in the tool room who may issue fall protection gear to others and who are required to perform regular inspections on it.
