Affiliate Members' Council 

The Affiliate Members’ Council is comprised of firms who are engaged principally in the manufacture or sale of equipment and materials, equipment rentals, or provide professional benefits and services to contractors, and is open to all AGC San Diego Chapter Affiliate members. 

The Council meets quarterly to discuss issues important to an Affiliate member, sharing information and resources. The Council is structured to bring the Affiliate members into closer harmony with the workings of AGC, and to develop methods whereby our Affiliate members can best achieve their desired goals through membership in the association.  

​Specific responsibilities include:

• Be ambassadors to all new AGC Members
• Volunteer to be mentors to new AGC Members (AGC New Affiliate Member Mentor Program)
  • Encouraging them to attend events and join committees
  • Introducing them to other AGC members
• Host the annual Affiliate Mixer
• Support the Affiliate Day Golf Tournament, raising funds for the AGC Education & Scholarship Program
• Nominate and present the Annual AGC Member Awards for Excellence in Marketing, Good Business Award, Affiliate Member of the Year, Affiliate Company of the Year, and Rookie of the Year.

Vision
The Affiliate Members' Council will continue the high level of service that has been part of this committee since its inception to AGC and the industry. However, the committee should begin a process to optimize the investment in AGC of its Affiliate Members. This should include more interaction with other groups within the AGC. 

Specific Tasks and Goals to be Accomplished

• Implement a plan to introduce General Building, General Engineering and Specialty Contractor Members to the Affiliate Council Membership. 
  
  • The Council should develop a plan to bring GC’s and Specialty Contractor Members to Affiliate Council meetings to detail their firms and their perspective on the industry. The goal would be to bring the industry “closer” to council members.
    
• The Council is also responsible for organizing and supporting the AGC Affiliate Mixer, held each year in March as the first members mixer of the year.

Affiliate Day Golf Tournament
In August, the Affiliate Members' Council helps support the largest golf tournament of the year to raise funds for AGC Education & Scholarship Program.
