What is it???
The AGC San Diego
ONLINE PLAN ROOM Service is a comprehensive online system that is a
sophisticated, yet easy to use, Internet Plan Room. It allows AGC San
Diego members and AGC Plan Room members to view and download plans and
specifications for hundreds of projects out for bid in San Diego, Orange,
Riverside, San Bernardino, and Imperial Counties in Southern California, as
well as selected projects in other Southern California counties.
In addition, AGC’s
Online Plan Room Service allows members to view and purchase project plans
and specifications at a minimal cost from the following plan rooms located
in California and selected areas of Oregon, Washington, and Nevada.

How do AGC San Diego
members and AGC Plan Room members get started with the AGC ONLINE PLAN ROOM?
The process is
simple!!! Over 2,000 individuals employed by AGC San Diego member firms and
AGC Plan Room member firms are already accessing this valuable information.
Upon applying for AGC San Diego membership or AGC Plan Room memberships you
will receive an email from AGC with the login information. This email will
include each individual’s user code and password. It will also detail how
to gain access to the new AGC ONLINE PLAN ROOM. Other employees may be
included at anytime. Please contact the AGC Plan Room to obtain
additional user accounts,
planroom@agcsd.org.
What are some of the AGC
San Diego ONLINE PLANROOM’s features???
Browse
Projects
Each week, between
100-200 or more projects in our 5 county reporting area will be included.
There are also hundreds more projects from other areas of the state.
Members may browse the bidding projects in a
number of ways…by those in the AGC Online Plan Room…by those with particular
CSI codes included, by archived projects…or by projects from other areas of
the state. Members may also browse projects that are
planned in the future. It is
easy to see which projects present opportunities for your firm.
Search
for Projects
The AGC San Diego
ONLINE PLAN ROOM allows members to search projects by name or other
criteria. This allows you to go directly to the project that interests you.
Specification Keyword Search
Looking for a
particular keyword or phrase (i.e. “asbestos removal”, “glazing,” etc.)???
Simply click on keyword search and a listing of the projects with those
keywords in the specification will be displayed. In addition, members may
have key words customized for them, and the program will automatically send
to you each day a listing of new projects that contain those keywords.
New
Project, New addenda, New document daily notification
Want to be
notified of new projects, addenda, and new documents received each day in
the AGC Plan Room? The program allows each individual to customize the
notice for these criteria. You will receive the information that is
critical to you in a daily email.
Projects from 23 Plan Rooms in California and other States
Members are
given access to 23 plan rooms listed above. Members are allowed to purchase
the plans and specs from each plan room for a minimal amount. General
Contractors may also list themselves as bidders on any of these projects, or
may post projects for which they are seeking bidders in all plan rooms.
Securing Plans and Specifications
Most projects
listed in the AGC San Diego ONLINE PLAN ROOM will give you immediate 24/7
access to the plans and specs. Members may simply download the project that
interests them and print the drawings and the specs or a portion of the
projects documents to their printer, plotter, or you may order them online
from a reprographics firm for delivery to your office.
View
Activity
Members are able
to view all activity…i.e. those firms
that have looked at or downloaded a particular project with this
feature. Why is this important? General Contractors will be able to tell
which Subcontractors are interested…Subcontractors will be able to tell
which firms are competing for the project.
Add Me
to the Bidder’s List
Prime contractors
will be able to automatically enter their firm as a bidder on projects they
are interested in bidding.
“My Desk” Feature
If you decide to
seriously track certain projects, the program allows you to save them on “My
Desk.” When you enter the site, the “My Desk” page is the first page you
view. Any changes to the projects listed on your “My Desk” will be listed
under the project. If there has been an addendum, if there is a new bidder,
if there is a bid date change, it will all be consolidated on your “My Desk”
page for those projects.
Other Features
The AGC San Diego
ONLINE PLAN ROOM also includes a free online takeoff/estimating program,
notification of low bidders, and a number of functions. It is an excellent
tool to help you secure more work.
