BenefitsPlus for Contractors and Affiliates

About the Plan
The BenefitsPlus medical plan is tailored specifically to meet the needs of San Diego AGC affiliate members. The plan is also available to those contractors whose prevailing wage work does not exceed 15% of their annual earnings. The medical plan provides several options with PacifiCare and one with Kaiser.

In addition to these medical plans, BenefitsPlus also provides an exceptional array of other benefits that are available to both contractors and affiliate members: five dental plans, vision, chiropractic, life, and dependent life insurance coverage.

Members of the AGC San Diego Chapter are eligible to join the plan. Members of California AGC are eligible to participate in the Plan through an arrangement between the Cal AGC and San Diego AGC chapters. Both your administrative and hourly workers can be insured.

Chiropractic
Optional benefits available include chiropractic and inpatient as well as outpatient mental health and chemical dependency benefits.

Dental
Because you want to control your dental program costs, but still have the freedom to choose any dentist, the AGC has developed two dental programs that help you control cost yet still deliver everything you and your employees want: comprehensive benefits, freedom of choice, no-hassle administration, and responsive customer service.

Vision
The AGC offers a vision plan with an extensive network of doctors who agree to provide the finest ophthalmic care and materials to persons covered under the plan. The plan is designed to encourage you to maintain your vision through regular eye examinations and to help with your vision care expenses for required glasses or contact lenses.

AGC BenefitsPlus Trustees
Much of the credit for the BenefitsPlus program strength lies with the members who serve as its trustees.

All of the trustees are successful business people in their own right. As owners/ principals, they have been active members of the San Diego AGC for many years and have donated countless hours to the creation and implementation of the Employee Benefits Program.

Most trustees are themselves participants in the insurance programs. As such, they understand and represent their fellow participants' best interest at all times.

How to enroll
Firms are eligible to join the Plan if you are a member of Associated General Contractors of America, San Diego Chapter Inc. and hold a current, valid contractor's license.
